Last weekend the Dynamo girls travelled to Guildford Spectrum for the 2015 British Challenge Cup, along with their coaches Emma Beales and Kerri Upton.
Day 1 of the competition saw the Dynamo Junior Girls compete. Competing amongst a field of over 50 gymnasts the Dynamo girls held their own putting in some great performances. Casey Spry, had a clean competition scoring a personal best of 44.30 overall to finish in 16th. Amy Layzell finished with an overall score of 42.1 placing her 28th overall and finished 6th on Vault. Jessica Wells finished with an overall score of 40.05 in 39th place.
Saturday evening was the turn of Dynamo’s Senior gymnast, Danielle Barnes. Competing amongst 30 gymnasts, Danielle took some unfortunate falls but with her skill level now of a high difficulty finished with an overall score of 42.25 and took 20th place.
Sunday was the turn of the Espoir girls, with 5 girls representing Dynamo amongst the 75 competitors. Sydney Letchford finished with an overall score of 42.35 for 39th position. Team mates Olivia Essex and Leah Mitchell were close behind, with Olivia scoring 42.15 for 41st position and Leah scoring 42.05 for 42nd place. Tayah Askham finished in 56th with an overall score of 40.25 with Ella Beattie-Edwards in 64th with 38.95.
A busy competition period for the Challenge Cup girls, but with a lot of experience gained the girls will now look forward to the new season beginning in September. |
