Dynamo School of Gymnastics Boys Squad travelled to London along with their coaches Nathan Kitcher, Anthony Munday, Lee Carmichael and Jenny Archer to compete in the London Club Development Grades.
This competition allows the boys to compete their grade routines against the best boys in the country in practice for the National Finals held later in the year in GMAC Birmingham.
Dynamo had representation from nineteen boys competing across various levels in the competition.
Starting with our youngest Pre Level 1 U8 gymnast Jude Routledge who finished 8th with an all around score of 49.96. Jude had an impressive Rings routine awarding him 4th place on this apparatus. He did a fantastic job in his first year of competitive gymnastics at a National Event.
In the Level 1 Club Category, Brandon Lynch finished in 1st all round with a score of 54.25. Brandon won a staggering four Silver individual apparatus medals on floor scoring 9.36, Rings scoring 8.8, P-Bars scoring 9.1 and H-Bar with an 8.4. Team mate Lucas Jones finished overall in 38th with a total score of 42.11. Lucas also finished 7th on Vault with a score of 9.50.
In the Level 2 club competition, Artem Nugmanov finished in 21st place with an overall score of 51.26. Team mate Ethan Jackson-Lowe finished in 22nd with 51.06 as an overall score. Ethan also took home the Silver medal position on Vault with a score of 9.9 out of 10.0. Just behind was Joshua Coomer finishing in 29th achieving a total score of 50.20. Tom Harrison finished in 45th with a score of 47.36
In the Level 3 club competition we had Ashley Hassett place 9th overall scoring 51.18. Ashley won the Silver medal on H-Bar scoring 9.067. Samuel Mould was just behind in 20th with a total score of 49.30. Samuel was closely followed by team mates Joe-Lewis Back in 26th scoring 48.65 also finishing 4th on H-Bar with an 8.80 and Kian Andrews in 27th all round scoring 48.35. We had Oliver Houkes finish in 34th with a score of 47.034, Joseph Wilson in 44th with a score of 45.034 and Rory Tidmus in 47th with a total score of 43.569. This was the largest age category and the boy’s team did a fantastic job with their routines ahead of the Regional Qualifying competition in two weeks time where they are all aiming for a spot in the Regional Team.
In the Level 4 competition we had Ben Fyvie-Rae who finished in 34th with an all round score of 46.15, With team mate Isaac Beattie-Edwards in 38th place with an overall score of 44.85. In the same competition, The Level 5 age boys we had Callum Archer in 8th overall scoring 52.365. Callum finished 1st on floor with a score of 9.467 and 2nd on Pommel also scoring 9.467. Team mate Finley Hughes finished in 20th with a total score of 41.667. Finley finished in 8th place on Vault scoring 9.20. Wesley Wong finished 25th with an all round score of 33.269.
All in all, a great weekend with achievements from all the boys. The boys will now need to continue the hard work we have put in over the past few months and continue heading in the right direction in preparation for the Regional Qualifiers in two weeks time and the National Finals in November.
